Healing Power of Music
*This is a re-post from the BISB CAS blog. I think it's a great idea that can easily be adapted not only for music but for other performing arts as well. As Ms. Wright mentioned, helping to organize something like this is also an opportunity for non-performers to collaborate and be part of an amazing undertaking.

We used to do something similar in medical school! We would go to wards and sing as a choir. Music is powerful. This is a great idea, Mr. T! I would definitely like to be involved in whatever capacity :)

Cool! Thanks. I was thinking of your Acoustic Jam club when I was writing this post. Let's talk =)
ReplyDeleteListen this is a great idea, and can be taken to a whole new level with the arts in general.
ReplyDeleteAnother way to connect with people would be to play games with them, not sports but cards, chess, shoots and ladders, maybe even a puzzle, it keeps your mind fresh. This can be done in nursing homes, outreach programs and even as an after school activity with the younger students here at Brent.
If games didn't interest you, you could start a peer tutoring program, once again even with the younger students who need that extra help and are intimidated by teachers.
